Let’s have a closer look at what one of our graduates thinks about the IBB program. Listen to Dhiraj Kapur and his education journey.

- My experience: IBB served as an educational stepping stone into the world of business and my career. One of the biggest challenges that IBB imposed on me and helped to overcome at the same time was the need to manage curriculum efficiently and effectively that required the development of time management, critical thinking and interpersonal skills – essential foundation that helps in any career.
- Current position: Having graduated IBB I found my way into the world of start-ups having served as business development representative for 3 EU-based VC-backed companies in B2B SaaS space. Currently, I’m doing VC internship in investments team at RSJ focusing on evaluating and screening investment opportunities with emerging VC managers.
- My testimonial: In my opinion, IBB’s uniqueness revolves around the network: students, professors and partners. Given the international and English-focused teaching nature of the programme, I was able to take my interpersonal and intercultural skills to new heights which allowed me to be a part of many diverse teams in my career and build meaningful relationships with people of different cultures. Besides, IBB presents you with a comprehensive study plan that consolidates different domains from the world of business and trade – this helped to develop my approach to problem solving and be able to go from high level overview into the depths of granular research without getting lost. Upon graduation I felt like the puzzle finally was assembled and so many questions I had in regards to Trade, Finance, Marketing and other subjects started to make sense in the conjunction. Apart from that, unique exchange opportunities presented me with a semester-long placement in Hallam Sheffield University and gave me an opportunity to experience new teaching methodologies and approaches towards undergraduate studies.

When you arrive in a new country, with a new language, and new people, you must always find what people, institutions, and mentors will be your guide to push you further. That is exactly what I found at VSE and the IBB program. 🌍📚
I landed my first job at a big corporation as soon as I graduated…because of the university contacts 🤝, I met a great mentor who was invited as a guest teacher and, some years later, offered me my first corporate finance position…why am I saying all of this? 💼🚀
“Contacts make contracts” is a phrase that keeps proving true in my daily life, as an investor, and as a Sales manager. IBB gives you contacts, gives you future business partners, and gives you an environment to network with people who can catapult you incredibly. 📈 USE IT! Go talk to that teacher, go pitch your idea, say Hi to that classmate sitting next to you; VSE puts quality people in front of you, make the most out of it. 💬👥

🎓 Studying IBB at VSE has been a fantastic experience, both inside and outside the classroom. I especially appreciated the overall welcoming student environment 🤝, its multidisciplinary curriculum 📚, the various student organizations, and its partner university network – I’ve pursued a double degree with OTH Regensburg.
Since graduation, I have worked as a project assistant at the German Council on Foreign Relations, a think tank in Berlin 🏢. In my project, we’ve convened politicians 🗣️, experts, and businesspeople to help Germany act more effectively across policy fields in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Thanks to IBB and the faculty, I gained an extensive network, essential knowledge 📘, and valuable transferable skills 💼. The program provides a holistic learning experience by combining hands-on knowledge, including how to do business internationally 🌎, with crucial analytical skills, such as assessing global economic impacts. This mix equipped me well for both my job at the Council and my following master’s studies at Sciences Po and LSE 🎓.
