Admission Requirements & Entrance Exam

To be admitted to the IBB program at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VSE), applicants must meet both academic and formal conditions, and successfully complete the entrance examination.

Applications will open in autumn 2025: All prospective students will be able to submit their e-applications through the university’s system starting in the autumn of 2025. The application will be open on 1 November, 2025.

In-depth Admission Interview:

The aim of our admission interview is to find out the motivation to study and to check the knowledge of the English languageNo English language test or language proficiency certificate is required, nevertheless, a level of proficiency in English, equivalent to B2 level, is recommended to be able to start studies in English. 

The interview is conducted only with the applicants, who meet the application deadline of 28th February. 

Topics:

Five main topics have been selected for the IBB admission interview. They serve as the basis for discussion and help the interviewers evaluate the applicant’s interest in international business, their ability to reflect on relevant issues, and their capacity to communicate ideas clearly and effectively in English.

  1. Discuss your understanding of current global economic trends and their impact on international business.
  2. Why is being able to work well with different cultures a key to success in business around the world?
  3. Discuss the role of major countries (or groups of countries) in the world economy and international trade.
  4. Discuss the role of sustainability in international trade and international business practices.
  5. Talk about how new technologies are changing the way companies do business all over the world.

Please note that the specific topic for each applicant’s exam will not be self-selected but will instead be determined by the committee. This approach ensures a fair and balanced assessment for all candidates. As such, we encourage you to prepare thoroughly for all five topics to ensure that you are well-equipped to demonstrate your capabilities, regardless of the topic assigned.

Form:

The entrance examination has a long-distance form; therefore, applicants do not need to come to the University in person and sit the exam.

The interview will be done online via the MS TEAMS app, which can be downloaded from its official website. However, it is not necessary to download the app in order to attend the interview. Applicants who meet all the admission requirements will receive a link to join the interview.

Evaluation and results:

The admission interview assesses the following two areas:

! Applicants can reach up to 50 points for each part of the admission exam, i.e. 100 points for the whole interview !

Only candidates who obtain at least 50% of the points from each part of the admission exam and, at the same time, reach the minimum total point score set by the Dean will be admitted. The final decision on admission / non-admission is usually made around the mid of March.

 

📝 💻 All documents in the admission procedure are delivered by the VŠE via its electronic information system InSIS. Applicants make all submissions to the VŠE electronically via InSIS.
