Orientation Days

The so-called Orientation Days are held every semester one week before the beginning of the teaching period of an academic year. They are meant for all incoming international students. The Orientation Days are organized by the VŠE International Office but our IBB programme adds its own agenda included.

There are two primary purposes for this week-long event:

  1. Administratively process all newly admitted students and provide them with all necessary information and documents for their start at the VŠE and in the Czech Republic. It is known as a Registration Day. The new students are requested to come to the University in person to register to the programme and attend the very first IBB meeting with the IBB Academic Director and IBB coordinator.
  2. Help the incoming students get familiar with the University campus as well as the Czech culture, language, and Prague itself as well as meet with classmates and form new friendships and contacts.

Orientation Days offer a wide range of activities, for instance, there are usually lectures on Cultural Shock and Czech History, university information system InSIS workshops, informal meetings focused on foreign language practice and trips around Prague and its vicinity.
