Final State Exams & Defense of the Bachelor’s Thesis – September
Final State Examinations
The State Exam will take place on three dates in September:

Please note that the current semester ends on 31 August, which means that your registration for the State Exam may disappear. Therefore, you need to check your registration on 1 September and, if necessary, register again manually.
Registration will be available via InSIS from 1 September 2025 – course ID: IBB.
How to register for the course:

Go to your profile in InSIS.

Choose “Student’s Portal.”

Find “Extra‑sem. courses” and click on the icon.

You will see a list of courses – find IBB and tick the option.

Confirm your choice by clicking on “Add courses.”

You need to send a request for Confirmation of completion of the study plan for final / comprehensive exam via InSIS – Contact centre, which has to be confirmed by your study coordinator at the latest one day before the final state exam takes place. If your study plan has already been approved, it is not necessary to submit the request again (even in the case of a retake of the state exam).
Bachelor Thesis Defence
If you wish to defend your bachelor’s thesis during September, you must be registered for the course with the course ID: 2OBP. Your defense is organized by the department where you are writing your bachelor’s thesis. Registration for the dates will be possible only after 1 September 2025.
How to enrol for the course:

- Choose “Student’s Portal”
- Find “Extra-sem. courses” and click on the icon
- You will see a list of the courses, you need to find 2OBP and tick the choice
- You need to confirm the choice by clicking on “add” courses

PowerPoint Presentation
- both departments require a presentation of your bachelor’s thesis.
At the Department of International Economic Relations – students are expected to present their thesis during the defense with a PowerPoint presentation. The main focus of the presentation should be on the achieved results of the thesis. This presentation should last about 15 minutes and follow this structure:

- Introduction of the main goal of the thesis and the partial goals of each chapter
- Methods used in the thesis
- Main sources
- Answers to the partial goals (including illustrations with graphs, tables, etc.)
- Answer to the overall goal of the thesis (including illustrations with graphs, tables, etc.)
- Problems encountered during the research and possible problems for further research
- Answers to the supervisor’s questions from the evaluation
- Answers to the opponent’s questions from the evaluation

At the Department of International Business, a student’s performance during the defence is expected to be accompanied by a presentation of the student´s thesis in PowerPoint. The student’s presentation is followed by a discussion based on the assessments by the academic consultant (supervisor) and the opponent (further relevant questions can be raised by any member of the commission). As a final part of the presentation, the student can also prepare slides with answers to questions from the assessments.
The presentation should take approximately 5 minutes and follow the required structure:

- the goal and purpose of your thesis;
- structure;
- methodology (including (according to what you used) research questions and hypotheses);
- main findings;
- main sources
